What do those words painted on the front of
PORTA mean?

Porta patens esto. Nulli claudatur honesto. Six
Latin words, two complete sentences. This is the
full name of PORTA, roughly translated as, "Be
the door always open. Be it not closed to any
honest person."

The park (PNP as we like to call it) is Porta's
outdoor seating/gaming area and a sub-brand
of PORTA. It is most active during the late
spring, summer and fall, when we're able to
open up PORTA's garage doors and serve
drinks outside. In the winter we use the park to
sell Christmas trees felled in the forests
of Oregon.

Cool. Can I bring my dog to the park?

We'd love to have dogs in the park, but it gets to be too much of a mess. So no dogs.

Is PORTA wheelchair-accessible?

Yes. Right through our front doors.

What's the dress code?

Casual, although our guests often like to fancy themselves up. In PORTA NATIONAL PARK during the summer, feel free to hang out in beach attire.

For late night, our dress code is a little more strict. No hats, do-rags, bandanas, jerseys, solid colored shirts, vests, boots, sunglasses, or baggy clothing are allowed.

In other words, keep it classy.

Where can I park?

You can park on the street in any available metered parking space.

Do you have gift certificates?

Yes we do. Just ask your hostess or server.

What credit cards do you accept?

American Express, Discover, MasterCard,
and Visa.

Can I bring in a cake?

We try to limit what is brought into PORTA so our guests can fully experience our food and craft in all its glory. However, for parties booked in our private room, we do allow cakes to find their way to our tables. Reach out to our Special Events Manager with any questions you may have.

Do you accept reservations?

Sorry, we only accept walk-ins. However, if you have a large party coming into PORTA, it's always good practice to call ahead and let our hostess know.

What is the usual wait time?

This varies from day to day and season to season, ranging anywhere from no wait to three hours. Feel free to call ahead and speak with our hostess to find out how busy we are.

Can you accommodate large parties?

Of course! Please contact our Special Events Manager for more information.

What time does the kitchen close?

This question requires a three-stage answer: Sunday through Thursday, 11PM; Friday and Saturday, 10PM; Friday and Saturday, pizza until 1AM.

What kind of food does Porta serve?

Contemporary, local, sustainable, Italian, American, everyman slow food. And that's our abridged answer.

Are there vegetarian and vegan options?

Yes. Most of our pastas and pizzas are vegetarian and we have several vegan options that appeal to even our most carnivorous
of guests.

Can I add or change any ingredients to a pizza or dish?

Sorry, you can only remove ingredients. We're very firm about this, so please don't try to make our servers feel like jerks for not giving in. Our recipes were created to bring about the best in our food. We stand by every ingredient for
this reason.

Do you add gratuity to the check?

A 20% gratuity is added to parties reserving our private room.
